Description

AI, Accountability & the Practice of Medicine

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming part of everyday clinical practice administrative support. And while AI offers promising opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce administrative burden, and enhance patient care, it also raises important legal, ethical, and liability questions for physicians.

Learning Objectives:

1. Summarize emerging regulatory and legal considerations affecting the development, implementation, and use of AI in healthcare.

2. Identify potential risks and responsibilities associated with AI-assisted and AI-automated clinical workflows.

3. Discuss implications of AI adoption for the physician-patient relationship, clinical oversight, and the role of physicians in an increasingly automated healthcare environment.
