Join the Iowa Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics for a presentation by Des Moines Water Works
Join us for an in-depth webinar exploring the state of water quality in Iowa. Special attention will be given to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), their impact on public health, and the methods used to detect and manage these substances in the water supply. We'll also dive into the water treatment process, discussing how treatment protocols are adjusted in response to ongoing monitoring and emerging concerns.
Participants will receive:
*an overview of Iowa's water sources
*what contaminants and chemicals are monitored and how, with focus on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)
*what the treatment process looks like and how it is adjusted based on ongoing monitoring
