Description

Medicaid Matters: Advocacy and Education for Change

This advocacy-focused panel will explore recent and upcoming changes to Medicaid and their impact on patients, providers, and public health. Panelists will discuss how we can align around a unified message to effectively communicate the importance of Medicaid coverage and access. Participants will learn practical strategies to educate legislators, policymakers, and key stakeholders, as well as best practices for pediatricians and family medicine physicians to inform and empower patients and caregivers about these changes.
Designed for physicians, public health advocates, and community leaders, this session aims to strengthen coordinated advocacy efforts across disciplines. The training will be offered at no cost to participants.

Panelists:

  • Anne Discher, Common Good Iowa
  • Luke Elzinga, Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC)
  • Mary Nelle Trefz, Iowa ACEs 360
