Student Webinar Series: Finances for Medical Students

Student Webinar Series: Finances for Medical Students

Wednesday, April 10, 2024 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)

Description

Objectives:

This webinar will help you gain a better understanding of student loan choices and personal financial choices while in medical school and training, choosing a practice and/or possibly buying into a practice, philanthropy throughout your career, and other money matters that affect physicians. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn from a physician who has been in your shoes.

Dr. Tiffani Milless, MD, FCAP

Dr. Tiffani Milless attended the University of Notre Dame and earned a degree in Anthropology, followed by her medical degree at the University of Toledo College of Medicine. She completed her residency at Yale New Haven Hospital and her fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center and is board-certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Dermatopathology.

Dr. Milless has extensive experience in the delivery of rural healthcare, serving as the medical director of multiple critical access hospitals, as well as serving as Blood Bank Director for a large health system. Last year, she founded a private full-service pathology laboratory in Des Moines, Iowa called Goldfinch Laboratory and is looking forward to a new chapter in her career.

Like many physicians, she received very little formal education in the financial aspect of a career in medicine. Through her experiences she has gained insights she wishes she had as a medical student navigating student loans, real estate investments, personal finances, and beginning her own practice.
